    Bennett Place State Historic Site
    The Bennett House is the location where the civil war ended in 1865 and the remaining troops were surrendered to General T. Sherman. A surrender re-enactment is held every April. Guided tours of the property are offered. Several exhibits are displayed including photographs, uniforms, flags and guns.

    Boyette Slave & Schoolhouse
    This structure was originally a dwelling for slaves that were owned by the Boyette family. It was later used as a schoolhouse for the Boyette children and others from the surrounding area. Visitors can get a true feel for North Carolina's history when visiting this log cabin.

    Waynesborough Historical Village

    Horace Williams House

    Built circa 1840, Horace Williams House has evolved through several architectural periods and features a number of antiques. The building was restored in 1974 and now serves as a cultural center and art exhibition space.

    Hayti Heritage Center

    Built in 1891, the Greek-revival style church is testament to the cooperation between blacks and whites in the area, specifically the Hayti community. The former church is now used as a performance venue and is home of the Old Hayti archival collection. Cultural arts and educational programs are also offered.
