Oliver Nestus Freeman Round House Museum Built in 1942, this museum tells the stories of African Americans who helped shape the town of Wilson. Freeman originally built the house, one of many, in an attempt to counter the housing shortage for GIs returning from the war. The houses were built of whatever Freeman could get his hands on including bottles, tree saplings, and string.
